First signs of spring!

Porcupine Den

On Tuesday last week, during camp, we were out for a walk and noticed an area near the junction of the Blue and Red trails that was predominently hemlock with lots of cut hemlock and fresh scat on the ground....porcupine! Nearby is a huge old hollow tree and sure enough, there were porcupine tracks right up to it and lots of scat outside the entrance.

Since then, we've been back a couple of times - still no sighting, but the porcupine is still active and cutting hemlock to munch!
